Homework: vocabulary memorization at home and occasional practice pages 

 

COURSE DETAILS: This course will be a continuation of the Elementary Spanish course from the 2024-25 school year. Essential basics will be reviewed (greetings, calendar, numbers, nouns, adjectives, and present-tense verb conjugation), and also the class will forge ahead into new vocabulary and grammar instruction. Students will benefit greatly from investing 20-30 minutes per week studying vocabulary and completing a short review sheet at home in-between classes. Grammar will be taught explicitly; but understandability—not perfection—will be celebrated!  Class time will be filled with conversation, songs, games, listening practices, and activities that get students communicating in Spanish—and moving around—as much as possible.  The instructor desires to encourage students in their language learning and help them feel safe enough to put forth their best effort!
