Social Studies: History of Rocketry and Aviation

Prerequisites: reading, writing, researching and scientific experiment creation Appropriate for:  6th through 8th grade

Materials to be supplied by the student: • Notebook • Stocked pencil box Semester supply fee: $30 

Supply fees to be used for: copying, colored pencils, crayons, extra scissors, glue and craft/experiment supplies, LEGO pieces, various teaching subscriptions Approximate hours of homework per week: 1 to 3 hours

Course Description: In this class students will explore the history of flight, space travel and the heroes that changed the aerospace world. Students will be challenged monthly with topic related flight projects to present in class, as well as group LEGO build activities. Some outdoor class time is required. Students must check Google Classroom for updates, videos, assignments and extras.
